At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – define the relative positions of the Earth, Moon and Sun in the Universe – name the layers of the Earth – describe the properties of the main layers within the Earth – compare the abundance of elements in the Earth’s crust and in the whole of the Earth – specify the sources of information used to determine the structure of the inner part of the Earth – describe how density, pressure and temperature vary with depth from the surface – specify the position of the magnetic poles of the Earth. |
